GEES / GEES-2RS type Spherical Plain Bearings: This series is classed as radial spherical plain bearings requiring maintenance Comprising of sliding contact surfaces of steel against steel these spherical plain bearings are double lip sealed to prevent ingress of dirt and moisture and require maintenance from time to time in the form of re-lubrication via an annular lubrication groove around its outer and inner rings Dependent on installation design the lubricant may be passed through the housing or spindle directly into the bearing at any point around the groove which has small holes to direct the lubricant onto the mating surfaces These are metric sized spherical plain bearings The bearings are manganese phosphated and the sliding contact surface is then treated with a running-in lubricant This reduces friction and wear during the running-in period
